CMPD investigating domestic-related shooting death early Saturday

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating the shooting death of man in a domestic incident early Saturday.

Officers responded to a call at 3:35 a.m. in the 6300 block of Elliott Drive in north Charlotte.

They found a man inside a residence with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronouced dead on the scene by Medic. Authorities said the victim was Jamario Bernard Jackson, 28.

Police said a suspect in the case has been identified and interviewed. The case will be reviewed by the District Attorney’s Office to determine if charges are to be filed, according to police.
