Lowe’s giving $23 million to Habitat International

Habitat for Humanity Charlotte and Lowe’s teamed up Friday with other community volunteers to frame a new Habitat home in the parking lot of the Lowe’s in the University City area. It will be moved to west Charlotte for completion. The event was one of 10 Habitat builds taking place across the country to celebrate a commitment by Mooresville-based Lowe’s to provide $23 million to Habitat for Humanity International over the next five years. Habitat International is in the midst of a volunteer drive in hopes of serving 1 million people annually by 2018.
