Shooting incident in Salisbury sends three men to area hospitals

Salisbury police are investigating a shooting early Saturday that sent three men to area hospitals.

At 1 a.m., police answered a call about shots being fired at Grim Street and Alexander Lane, and found a man lying on the back porch with life-threatening injuries.

After the victim was taken to Novant Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, police got a call from the hospital that two more men with gunshot wounds had been brought there by private vehicle.

Authorities said the incident occurred at the 400 block of Grim Street between several people exchanging gunfire.

The man found on Alexander Lane had run from the scene before collapsing on the back porch of the residence, police said.

Two of the men were flown to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where they were undergoing surgery, authorities said.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Salisbury Police Department at 704-638-5333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
