Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a west Charlotte road Sunday night.

Police say they were called shortly before 10 p.m. to the 8900 block of Old Dowd Road, not far from Charlotte Douglas International Airport, and found a man’s body in the road. Officers said the victim was suffering from “apparent trauma.”

The victim’s identity has not been released.

Police are working to determine if anyone saw the incident. Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact detectives at 704-432-TIPS or to leave information with Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. Steve Lyttle
