• Charlotte Bobcats coach Steve Clifford drew his seventh technical foul of the season in the first half. He’s still well behind close friend Tom Thibodeau of the Chicago Bulls, who leads all NBA coaches with 10.
• Actually, technical fouls have been a rarity of late for the Bobcats – they have two since Feb. 22. The other was called on center Al Jefferson in Milwaukee Mar. 16.
• The Rockets got back center Dwight Howard, who missed the previous three games with an ankle injury. Howard and Bobcats coach Steve Clifford worked together when Clifford was an assistant with the Orlando Magic and Los Angles Lakers. Howard isn’t surprised how quickly Clifford has had an impact.
“I knew coming in he was going change the way the Bobcats play and make them a better team. The (way he) compacts (the floor) at the defensive end is incredible. I’m happy for him.”
• NBA commissioner Adam Silver linking a possible All-Star Game in Charlotte to requested upgrades at Time Warner Cable Arena is how the game is played. Super Bowls, All-Star Games, etc., have been a bargaining chip for a long time now.
