White truck linked to rash of Lincoln break-ins

LINCOLNTON Investigators say they have linked a pick-up truck to a rash of vehicle break-ins during the past month in the Boger City and Iron Station areas.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said someone has broken into 35 vehicles since Feb. 24. All but one of those vehicles was unlocked, investigators said.

Deputies said the driver of the truck bought gas at 6 a.m. Tuesday at Jerry’s One Stop on N.C. 27 East and paid for the fuel with a credit card stolen during a break-in on Asbury Church Road. Authorities said the vehicle is an extended-cab white pick-up truck.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact detectives at 704-732-9050 or Crime Stoppers at 704-736-8909.
