The Mint Museum Uptown will debut “Women of Vision: National Geographic Photographers on Assignment” on Saturday. Charlotte is the first of five cities to host the national exhibition.
Nearly 100 photographs taken by 11 award-winning National Geographic photojournalists will be on display through July 20. “This show is a true celebration of creativity, and it continues the museum’s ongoing dedication to the important medium of photography,” said Kathleen Jameson, president and CEO of the Mint.
“Women of Vision” also includes first-person video vignettes that reveal the photographers’ individual styles and approaches. Visitors can also learn how National Geographic magazine picture editors work with photographers to tell a story through photo selections.
“Women of Vision” is organized by the National Geographic Society. PNC Financial Services is the national tour sponsor.
The Mint Museum Uptown is at 500 S. Tryon St. More details at www.mintmuseum.org.
