April is a good time to buy:

• Easter/Passover items at the grocery store, including ham, asparagus and candy. Low prices will continue on artichokes, broccoli and cauliflower.

• The first week of April, parents should see dress clothes marked down 25-50 percent, according to Daniel Butler, vice president of retail operations for the National Retail Federation.

• You should see good deals on annuals and containers such as terra-cotta pots, but this is not the ideal time to buy outdoor furniture.

• It’s the end of the fiscal year for Japanese companies, meaning consumers can find some great deals on laptops and televisions, according to Jim Barry, spokesman for the Consumer Electronics Association.

• National Spa Week is April 21-27. Spa, wellness and health and fitness facilities will offer discounts on all types of services. Visit Spaweek.com for more details.
