Carjacking in Charlotte’s Fourth Ward

By Steve Lyttle

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a carjacking early Wednesday morning in the city’s Fourth Ward community uptown.

The victim, a woman in her 40s, said she was robbed at gunpoint. The robbery took place about 3:30 a.m. in the parking lot of a condominium complex on Eighth Street, according to police.

No injuries were reported.

The victim told WSOC-TV that she was returning home from a birthday celebration when four men, apparently in their teens, demanded the keys to her Honda Accord. Steve Lyttle
