    The 2013-14 Associated Press all-state high school basketball teams for North Carolina, as selected by 25 sports writers across the state in results released Wednesday. With school, position, class and number of votes in parentheses:

Shelby High’s Gabe DeVoe was the leading vote-getter for the N.C. Associated Press all-state team, which was released Wednesday.

The team was selected by 25 sports writers across the state.

DeVoe averaged an N.C.-best 34 points and set a school record by scoring 885 points this season. He finished his career with 2,072 points and ranked No. 7 nationally in scoring average. The two-time conference player of the year is a Parade All-American who will play at Clemson.

DeVoe was one of several area players to make the team.

Lake Norman’s Kishawn Pritchett and Northside Christian’s Keyshawn Woods made the boys team. Pritchett led his team to the N.C. 4A state final. Woods was the N.C. Gatorade player of the year. Myers Park’s Rydeiah Rogers, MVP of the N.C. 4A Western Regional and N.C. 4A state finals, was the second-leading vote-getter on the girls team. Rogers was one of two juniors selected to the girls all-state team, along with Hickory’s Danasia Witherspoon.

Other area players on team included McDonald’s All-American Jatarie White of Providence Day, Bandy’s Madi Story, East Rutherford’s Rachel Camp and Albemarle’s Akela Branch.
