Charlotte Bobcats - Philadelphia 76ers Observations

• Josh McRoberts’ sprained left ankle (he suffered it in the fourth quarter of Monday’s comeback against the Washington Wizards) meant rookie Cody Zeller got his first NBA start. Previously when McRoberts was out, coach Steve Clifford left Zeller with the reserves and started Anthony Tolliver.

• McRoberts said he hurt himself tapping a rebound to a teammate. Clifford said there’s no solid projection on how soon McRoberts could play again; it could be as soon as Friday against the Orlando Magic or not until Wednesday at Washington.

• I’d heard all around the league that the remarkable thing about the 76ers, considering how much they’ve been programmed to lose by management, is how they don’t look like a team that has quit. I’d have to say that’s accurate; they compete, they just don’t have much with which to compete.

• I thought Philadelphia’s Henry Sims was an NBA player when he was with the Bobcats for summer league in Las Vegas – smart, a good passer and not reluctant to be physical in the paint. But if you told me he’d be a starting center the second half of this season, I would have chuckled.
