• Josh McRoberts sprained left ankle (he suffered it in the fourth quarter of Mondays comeback against the Washington Wizards) meant rookie Cody Zeller got his first NBA start. Previously when McRoberts was out, coach Steve Clifford left Zeller with the reserves and started Anthony Tolliver.
• McRoberts said he hurt himself tapping a rebound to a teammate. Clifford said theres no solid projection on how soon McRoberts could play again; it could be as soon as Friday against the Orlando Magic or not until Wednesday at Washington.
• Id heard all around the league that the remarkable thing about the 76ers, considering how much theyve been programmed to lose by management, is how they dont look like a team that has quit. Id have to say thats accurate; they compete, they just dont have much with which to compete.
• I thought Philadelphias Henry Sims was an NBA player when he was with the Bobcats for summer league in Las Vegas smart, a good passer and not reluctant to be physical in the paint. But if you told me hed be a starting center the second half of this season, I would have chuckled.
