Matchup to Watch
Al Jefferson vs. Nikola Vucevic: Vucevic had 24 points and 23 rebounds in the Magics upset last week of the Bobcats. Hes the sort of strong, bulky center who can jostle Jefferson out of his favored scoring spots, rather than try to defend the shot once Jefferson is already in optimum position in the post.
• Maybe the second-half meltdown the Bobcats suffered in Orlando had a corrective effect in Philadelphia, where Charlotte jumped on the 76ers early Wednesday and never let a lottery team have hope of winning that game.
• This is the only Bobcats home date in a run of four road games down the regular-season stretch.
• The Bobcats lost power forward Josh McRoberts to an ankle sprain for the 76ers game, so rookie Cody Zeller got his first start. The Bobcats are listing McRoberts as doubtful for the Magic game.
• Magic rookie Victor Oladipo, who played college ball with Zeller at Indiana, is Orlandos sixth man. Hes becoming a very dangerous pick-and-roll scorer.
Did you know?
A big factor in the Bobcats 3-10 record within the Southeast Division; theyre 1-2 against the Magic.
