More Information

It looks and sounds a little – or maybe a lot – like an Elvis Presley show this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway, where Elvis impersonators are competing in a preliminary round of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest. Impersonators are competing to win a spot in the main event, held in Memphis, Tenn., in August during Elvis Week. The Charlotte finals are scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, with the winner getting $2,500 and a chance to perform at the Speedway Club Saturday evening. The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest is part of this weekend’s AutoFair, which runs through Sunday at the speedway. Steve Lyttle
