Matchup to Watch

Kemba Walker vs. Kyrie Irving: Irving, who starred as a freshman for Duke, recently returned from a biceps injury. These are two of the better pick-and-roll point guards in the Eastern Conference.

Observations

• Cavs coach Mike Brown elected to keep Dion Waiters in the starting lineup after Irving’s return. That makes for a pretty dynamic scoring backcourt.

• The Bobcats have won four in a row over the Cavs, including all three previous meetings this season.

Tap-ins

• Bobcats power forward Josh McRoberts sat out Friday’s home game against the Orlando Magic with a sprained left ankle. It’s unlikely he’d play against the Cavaliers.

• Cavs forward Anthony Bennett, the No. 1 overall pick in June, is out with a patellar tendon strain.

Did you know?

It appears the value of the Luol Deng trade has finally kicked in for Cleveland; entering Friday night’s game in Atlanta, the Cavs had won five of six.
