South Boulevard is open again, but several wrecks have been reported in a short span of time in southeast Charlotte.
Police report two wrecks on Sardis Road, including one with a trapped motorist; two more on Providence Road; and another on Johnston Road near Ballantyne.
An overnight hit-and-run collision left at least one person injured on South Boulevard near Tremont Avenue. Power lines and a large sign were knocked down, and crews worked for several hours to make repairs.
The road was reopened about 7 a.m.

I-485 inner loop, south Mecklenburg ... Congestion; traffic moving 25-35 mph from Providence Road to I-77.
Independence Boulevard inbound ... Congestion; traffic moving 20-25 mph from Eastway Drive to uptown.
Johnston Road ... Congestion and a collision at I-485; traffic moving 15-25 mph northbound from the state line to I-485.
Providence Road inbound ... Congestion and wrecks at Raintree Road and the Arboretum; traffic moving 15-20 mph from I-485 to Wendover Road.
Sardis Road at Brackenbury Lane ... Collision with injuries; trapped motorist; heavy delays.

I-77 northbound, south Charlotte ... Congestion; traffic moving 25-35 mph from Carowinds Boulevard up to Clanton Road.
