Gastonia police seek ID of suspect

GASTONIA Police in Gastonia are asking the public’s help in finding a man accused of stealing and then using a victim’s debit card.

The theft took place Jan. 24, according to police. Someone broke into a man’s car, took his wallet, and then used the man’s debit card at two stores. The car had been parked at the Dick’s Sporting Goods store on Cox Road, and the card was used at Dick’s and at Target.

The suspect is described as a white male, wearing a green cap, a red Boston Red Sox hoodie, camo cargo pants, and gray and blue shoes.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call detectives at 704-866-6975 or Crime Stoppers at 704-861-8000.
