Caldwell charges man with selling crack

Caldwell County authorities have arrested a man they say was selling crack cocaine in the southern part of the county.

Jonathan Ray Randles, 37, of Hickory was arrested this week after drug agents from the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office allegedly seized a bag of crack cocaine from the suspect.

The sheriff’s office said it was conducting a separate drug investigation and learned that Randles would be delivering crack cocaine in the Granite Falls area. Agents said they narrowed down the delivery area and spotted Randles on Pinewood Road.

Randles was charged with trafficking cocaine by possession and trafficking cocaine by transportation. He was jailed under $50,000 bond.
