Carolina Panthers waive former Furman WR Webb

The Panthers have waived former Furman wide receiver R.J. Webb, who spent his only season with Carolina on injured reserve after tearing his ACL during a minicamp practice last June.

Webb, 26, was signed last May after participating in the team’s rookie minicamp as a tryout player. He was injured a month later.

Webb caught 85 passes for 1,082 yards and eight touchdowns at Furman from 2006-2009.
