1 person hurt in Concord house fire

One person was injured late Sunday night in a house fire in Concord, officials say.

The fire was reported shortly before 11:30 p.m. at a house in the 400 block of McGill Avenue NW. A passing motorist called 911 after noticing smoke coming from the home.

When firefighters arrived a few minutes later, they found smoke and flames coming from the house and a resident in the front yard. That resident was taken to CMC-Northeast, but the extent of the injuries is not known.

Officials are investigating what caused the fire. About 30 firefighters from Concord and Kannapolis battled the blaze.
