Matchup to Watch

Al Jefferson vs. Joakim Noah: Two of the NBA’s best centers square off in this last game of the regular season. Noah is a candidate for defensive player of the year and Jefferson is as good a low-post scorer as anyone in the league.

Observations

• Former Bobcat D.J. Augustin has resuscitated his NBA career with the Bulls after being waived by the Toronto Raptors. He has been terrific as a reserve, helping to fill the gap left by Derrick Rose after his most recent injury.

• Best indication how good Chicago’s defense is – the Bulls are 29-3 this season when scoring at least 96 points.

Tap-ins

• Noah (5.3 assists per game) and Bobcats power forward Josh McRoberts (4.8) are the top-passing big men in the NBA.

• The Bobcats lost all three previous games against the Bulls this season, but the losses were by a cumulative 13 points.

Did you know?

The Bulls have been among the top-three in fewest points allowed in each of coach Tom Thibodeau’s four seasons.
