Federal fugitive captured in Rowan County

SALISBURY Agents from the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office took a federal fugitive into custody late last week at a home near Salisbury, authorities say.

The sheriff’s Special Response Team arrested Damon Leshawn Cole, who also went by the names of Damony Lashawn Cole and Calvin Lawayne Scott, at a residence in the 400 block of Ashbrook Road, authorities said.

Investigators said Cole was wanted on a federal warrant for possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of firearms during a drug trafficking crime. He had been indicted in January 2012.
