The biggest traffic problem in the Charlotte region at 8:40 a.m. Thursday is in Iredell County.
A crash has left an overturned vehicle in the median of Interstate 77 in Iredell County. The N.C. Department of Transportation says no travel lanes are blocked, but traffic is slow in both directions.
The wreck is near mile marker 45, not far from the Amity Hill Road exit and about 5 miles south of Statesville. If you’re driving anywhere in that area, expect lengthy delays.
Otherwise, there are several wrecks being reported in the area at this time.

I-77 northbound and southbound, Iredell County ... Overturned vehicle near mile marker 45; heavy delays in each direction.
I-77 southbound, Lake Norman area ... Congestion; traffic moving 20-30 mph from Brawley School Road (Exit 35) down to Gilead Road (Exit 23).
McIlwane Road near Beatties Ford Road, Huntersville ... Downed tree blocking the road.
I-85 southbound, Cabarrus County ... Congestion; traffic moving 20-30 mph from George Liles Parkway (Exit 54) down to Mallard Creek Church Road (Exit 46).
Old Statesville Road at Sam Furr Road, Huntersville ... Collision with injuries; moderate delays.
Old Statesville Road at David Cox Road ... Collision; minor delays.
W.T. Harris Boulevard at Grand Teton Drive (near David Cox Road) ... Collision with injuries; moderate delays.
Albemarle Road inbound ... Congestion; traffic moving 15-25 mph from Lawyers Road to Sharon Amity Road.
I-485 inner loop, south Mecklenburg ... Congestion; traffic moving 25-35 mph from Providence Road to I-77.
Independence Boulevard inbound ... Congestion; traffic moving 20-25 mph from Eastway Drive to uptown.
W.T. Harris Boulevard near Independence Boulevard ... Disabled vehicle; minor delays.
Johnston Road ... Congestion; traffic moving 15-25 mph northbound from the state line to I-485.
Providence Road inbound ... Congestion; traffic moving 20-25 mph from the Arboretum area to Wendover Road.
Colony Road at Fairview Road ... Collision with injuries; moderate delays.
I-77 northbound, south Charlotte ... Congestion; traffic moving 25-35 mph from Carowinds Boulevard up to Clanton Road.
U.S. 321, Gaston County ... Congestion; traffic moving 15-25 mph in each direction between I-85 and Dallas-Cherryville Highway.
