Man shot to death in Concord

Concord police say a 30-year-old man was shot to death early Monday morning.

The victim has been identified as Arnold Jerome Bennett.

Police said emergency medical personnel were called shortly after midnight to the 700 block of Central Drive Northwest, just east of U.S. 29/U.S. 601, not far from the Concord Shopping Plaza.

Bennett lived on Barber Street, a short distance from where he was found.

The man was alive when medics arrived, but he died after being rushed to CMC-Northeast Medical Center, police said.
