Anne Alobwede has been arrested and charged in connection with a robbery and carjacking early Saturday in Charlotte’s uptown, police said.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested two men and a woman in connection with a robbery and carjacking in Charlotte’s uptown area.

One of the arrests came after a police pursuit Monday evening in north Charlotte.

The robbery and carjacking was reported about 4:30 a.m. Saturday at a residence in the 600 block of North Davidson Street. That is in First Ward, in the northeast side of uptown.

In the predawn hours Saturday, a man and woman who live on North Davidson Street were confronted by two men and a woman who assaulted them and tied them up, police said. At some point, the female victim managed to escape and call police.

Investigators said officers arrived in time to catch the female suspect, but the two men had gotten away – with the male victim’s ATM card and the couple’s 2001 gold Jeep Grand Cherokee. The ATM card was used at a local machine, police said.

Police looked throughout the weekend for the Jeep, and officers spotted it Monday evening in north Charlotte. Investigators said the driver of the SUV failed to stop for police, and that touched off a pursuit.

The chase ended at a convenience store in the 1700 block of Statesville Avenue, where, police said, two men jumped from the Jeep and ran. The driver, identified as Demecho Lipscomb Anderson, 33, was captured a short time later.

Police identified the woman who was arrested at the victims’ residence Saturday morning as Anne Alobwede, 25.

Then on Tuesday afternoon, police arrested a man they identified as the third suspect in the case, Dave Alobwede, 27.

Investigators said each of the three suspects was charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of kidnapping and one count of felony breaking and entering.

Police said Anderson also was charged with several traffic-related offenses, Dave Alobwede was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, and Anne Alobwede was charged with aiding and abetting felony larceny and communicating threats.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
