Rickie Fowler watches the flight of his drive from the 16th fairway during the Wells Fargo Championship Pro-Am at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte on Wednesday.

Predicting the winner of this week’s Wells Fargo Championship by the Observer’s coverage team of Scott Fowler, Ron Green Jr., Ron Green Sr., Jonathan Jones, David Scott and Tom Sorensen

SCOTT FOWLER

Rickie Fowler: Won this event in 2012 in a playoff – plus, there’s just something about that last name.

RON GREEN JR.

Pat Perez: He has been playing well and is overdue to win. This could be his week.

RON GREEN SR.

Rory McIlroy: Has a first, a second and a 10th in four starts at Quail Hollow. Shot 66-62 on the weekend when he won in 2010.

JONATHAN JONES

Webb Simpson: The Charlotte resident finally redeems himself from a poor final round in 2012 to get his first win at Quail Hollow.

DAVID SCOTT

Jonas Blixt: Played well at Augusta (tied for second), looks like he’s ready to win again.

TOM SORENSEN

Phil Mickelson: His time hasn’t ended, and he’ll prove it this week.
