3 Statesville police officers hurt in crash

STATESVILLE Three Statesville police officers suffered minor injuries Wednesday when their vehicle was struck by another car, police say.

The officers were detectives who had stopped another vehicle during an investigation on N.C. 90, according to a police report. A short time later, the officers’ SUV was hit from behind by another car.

The force of the crash pushed the SUV into the vehicle that police had stopped. No other injuries were reported in the collision.

The officers were taken to Iredell Memorial Hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Police said they are still investigating the wreck.
