Charlotte Hounds at Florida Launch Gameday capsule … for Saturday, May 3

Charlotte Hounds (0-1) at Florida Launch (0-1)

7 p.m., FAU Stadium, Boca Raton, Fla.

The Hounds opened their 2014 Major League Lacrosse season last week with a 15-8 loss to the vastly-improved Ohio Machine, which had lost four straight against Charlotte and were 4-24 over the past two seasons. … The Launch – the former Hamilton (Canada) Nationals franchise – fell behind 11-1 at the half against the Denver Outlaws, but rallied before losing 14-10. … The Hounds are 2-2 all-time against the Nationals, splitting their home-and-away series the past two seasons. ... Among the players on Florida’s roster is midfielder Josh Amidon, who played for Charlotte in 2012 and part of 2013 before being traded; and defender Joe Cinosky, a Hounds starter the past two seasons before a paperwork snafu sent him to the MLL player pool. … Charlotte will be without goalkeeper Adam Ghitelman and long-stick midfielder Mason Poli for the second straight game because of their college coaching commitments. The Hounds will have midfielder John Haus back in the lineup after missing last week. Bill Kiser
