What to Watch on Tuesday: Season finales for ‘Mindy Project,’ ‘New Girl’ and ‘Pioneers of TV’

The Mindy Project (9:30pm, Fox) - In the Season 2 finale, an item in a New York newspaper has Mindy thinking she’s found the man of her romantic-comedy dreams after reading his description of their encounter. But will she and Danny rekindle their romance?

Also on tonight . . .

Pioneers of Television (8pm, UNC-TV) - Season 4 concludes with a spotlight on techniques of comedic actors, including the manic improvisations of Robin Williams and Jonathan Winters, and the prepared approach of Tina Fey. Dick Van Dyke and Cloris Leachman are also featured.

New Girl (9pm, Fox) - Season 3 ends with the gang embarking on a cruise that Jess and Nick booked while they were still dating. During the trip, Coach deals with his fear of boats, Schmidt tries to win Cece back and Winston attempts to reconcile Nick and Jess.

About a Boy (9pm, NBC) - Scheduling problems arise as Will tries to plan a birthday party for Marcus.

Fargo (10pm, FX) - Gus tries to fix a mistake while Molly uncovers a promising lead.
