CMPD arrests rape suspect who was on loose

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say a man who allegedly had cut off his electronic monitoring device has been arrested again.

Police said they had been looking for 28-year-old Eddie Stokley since he cut off the device Saturday in the 1400 block of Bethel Road in west Charlotte. Stokley had been ordered to wear the device April 8 as part of his pre-trial release. He is facing a rape charge, police said.

Authorities said Stokley was arrested without incident Monday evening.
