Sesame Street’s “Can’t Stop Singing”

Family

‘Sesame Street Live’

1 and 4:30 p.m. (also 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday). Bojangles’ Coliseum, 2700 E. Independence Blvd. $18-$35. 800-745-3000.

When Elmo casts a spell with Abby Cadabby’s magic wand, Sesame Street becomes a nonstop, all-singing, all-dancing musical montage.

Music

‘Songs From My Mother’s House’

4 p.m. Myers Park United Methodist Church, 1501 Queens Road. $15. www.novavoce.org.

A celebration of mothers by Nova Voce, an auditioned community choir comprising two dozen women of all ages. The group bills itself as “the new voice of women’s ensemble singing in Charlotte,” although ironically, it is conducted by a man (James Jones).
