Worth mentioning: There are 1.28 miles of energy-absorbing SAFER barrier around Kansas Speedway the longest length of protective barrier of any track in NASCAR. This weekend also marks the first night-time NASCAR races at the track.
Whos Hot/Whos Not
Denny Hamlin: Won his first restrictor-plate race and pretty much earned a berth in the Chase.
Greg Biffle: Ran as competitive at Talladega as he has anywhere this season.
A.J. Allmendinger: Already has as many Top-10 finishes as his team earned all of last season.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr.: First Top-10 finish since mid-March.
Elliott Sadler: Picked up his first Nationwide Series win since moving to Joe Gibbs Racing after the 2012 season.
Landon Cassill: An 11th-place finish for his Cup team is just as important as a victory.
Brad Keselowski: Involved in two wrecks at Talladega and didnt make a lot of friends.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Got caught in the back of the pack late in the race and ran out of time to make it back to the front.
Trevor Bayne: Got knocked around quite a bit in two races at Talladega.
