Man shot near Charlotte’s uptown

A man was shot and seriously wounded early Friday at the south edge of Charlotte’s uptown.

The shooting was reported about 2:30 a.m. near the Midnight Diner, on South Tryon Street at Carson Avenue.

Police said a man who was standing in the parking lot was shot by someone in a passing car. Police are investigating whether the shooting might have been related to a dispute a short time earlier at a club on nearby South Summit Avenue.

No arrests have been announced in the case.

The victim was taken by Medic to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
