In this year’s annual Spring photo contest, we asked readers to show us their bloomers – flowers, veggies and trees, that is. Director of Photography Bert Fox gave top marks to a photo of fuschias; it was submitted by Jennifer Ake of Denver, N.C. Readers voted for “Cotton Candy,” a photo of pink dahlias submitted by Jenny Jernigan of Charlotte. Each will receive a $75 gift card.

Three other readers’ choice runners-up will receive a DVD of the Disney movie “Frozen.”

Pamela Gray-Faude’s photo “Reflections – Bradford Pears” and Cynthia Johnson’s photo “Bee at work” received honorable hentions from our photography editor.
