Parts of Iredell County under flood warning till 8 p.m.

South central Iredell County is under a flood advisory till 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Around 6 p.m., forecasters said that doppler radar indicated thunderstorms with heavy rainfall were in the advisory area. Officials estimated 1-2 inches of rain fell over the course of an hour.

Storm runoff will cause minor flooding in small creeks, streams, country roads and farmland, officials said.
