TOLEDO, Ohio Gorkys Hernandez, Jordan Danks and Andy Wilkins each went 3-for-5 and led the Charlotte Knights to a 7-1 International League victory against the Toledo Mud Hens on Sunday evening.
The Knights led 5-0 before the Mud Hens got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third inning.
Erik Johnson pitched five innings and got the win.
Hickory 7, Greenville 2: Trailing 2-0, the Crawdads scored three runs in the top of the sixth to take the lead. A single and two walks loaded the bases, and Evan Van Hoosier followed with a sharp single to center to tie the game at 2. Nick Vickerson followed with a single and, when Forrestt Allday bobbled the ball in right field, the go-ahead run came home.
Kannapolis 5-5, Hagerstown 1-11: Jake Sanchez (5-3) struck out six batters, walked none and allowing a run on five hits in seven innings to lead the Intimidators to a 5-1 win in the first game of a home doubleheader.
The Suns used an eight-run fourth inning to race to an 11-5 win in seven innings in the second game.
