A Lincoln County man faces numerous charges after he allegedly kicked out a window of a sheriff deputy’s patrol car, then used his head to shatter a window in another one.
Investigators said the 21-year-old also threw a rock through a home’s window and headbutted a hospital wall after being arrested.
The suspect is identified as Davon Malcom Woodard, 21, of Lincolnton.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to a home in the 3000 block of Beaver Dam Lane about 6:30 p.m. Monday. When deputies arrived, they said they saw Woodard throw a rock through the front window of the home.
Deputies said Woodard spit on them as he was being put in handcuffs, and once inside the patrol car he kicked out the rear window.
Deputies said Woodard eventually calmed down, and was moved to the front seat of another patrol car. But a short time later, deputies said, he shattered the passenger-side window with a headbutt.
Investigators said Woodard then was taken to CMC-Lincoln for observation, but while there, he allegedly headbutted a wall near the nurses’ station, damaging it. Deputies estimate he caused about $1,800 damage.
Woodard was charged with two counts of malicious conduct by a prisoner, four misdemeanor counts of injury to real property, four misdemeanor counts of communicating threats, two misdemeanor counts of resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer, two counts of damage to local government property, and one count of assault on a government official.
He was jailed under $21,000 bond.
