Police have identified Frances Harley Gutnick, 52, as the woman whose body was discovered Sunday in southwest Mecklenburg County.

And on Monday they announced that her boyfriend, Jimmy Wayne Estes, 51, will be charged in connection with her killing.

Police said Estes was involved in a “serious vehicular accident” in South Carolina. He will be charged with murder when he is released from the hospital, police said.

Gutnick’s body was discovered around 11 p.m. on Buckland Road, near the Catawba River. Cleve R. Wootson Jr.
