Southern State of Mind

Her whole life, New York native Rebecca never dreamed she’d have a Southern wedding. But when she fell in love with Matt and moved to Cameron, NC, she found herself planning a wedding below the Mason-Dixon line.

When the couple decided to get married, they knew they wanted to wed on their 100-acre property in Cameron, the same place Matt asked Reby to marry him. Reby wanted to take advantage of her new Southern surroundings: “I wanted a country chic fairytale wedding,” says Reby. And walking down the aisle in a blush colored Vera Wang ball gown, she really did look like a character straight out of a storybook. The couple exchanged vows in front of a handmade, rustic archway.

From games of corn hole to a fire pit ready for roasting marshmallows, the reception invited wedding guests to enjoy a fun, laid-back atmosphere. One amazing detail was the pair of giant, red, light-up marquee letters that Reby made herself.

The fairytale night finally came to a close as the newlyweds, surrounded by their closest family and friends, were sent off with sparklers. Matt and Reby took a mini honeymoon in Puerto Rico after the wedding and then jumped back into life as normal.
