Boy drowns in Caldwell County pool

GRANITE FALLS Caldwell County authorities say it appears as if a 10-year-old boy’s drowning Wednesday afternoon in a family swimming pool was accidental.

The drowning was reported about 4 p.m. in an above-ground pool at a residence in the 4500 block of Miller Court. That is in the Granada Farms neighborhood at the eastern edge of Granite Falls, in southern Caldwell County.

Authorities in Caldwell County said the victim apparently suffered a medical problem which is thought to have contributed to the drowning.
