A 28-year-old Charlotte man was shot and killed after he was involved in a fight in north Charlotte on Sunday.
Police identified the man as Terrance Johnson.
Police were called about 4:15 p.m. to a home on Wynbrook Way, near where North Graham Street meets Interstate 85. The caller reported an assault with a deadly weapon.
When officers got there, they found Johnson with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead by paramedics, who arrived a short time later.
Police said Johnson was shot following a fight with multiple people, but they haven’t said what the dispute was about.
Officers also didn’t release the name or a description of a suspect. It was unclear late Sunday if anyone had been arrested or charged.
Officers – including members of the vice and gang units – were canvassing the scene late Sunday, trying to determine what happened.
Police ask anyone with information about Johnson’s death to call 704-432-8477 to speak directly with a homicide detective. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. Tipsters are eligible for a reward for information that leads to an arrest.
