YORK A York woman on probation for indecent exposure was arrested again Thursday after an irate neighbor called police to report the woman wearing nothing but panties, police and court records show

Deputies found Jeannie Jonas, 55, hiding in woods Thursday afternoon near her Kelly Road home west of York wearing only underwear, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office report. Deputies asked Jonas why she was naked and Jonas replied that it was “hot outside.”

The neighbor, 74, who called police has complained to deputies several times. Thursday, the elderly woman told police that a nearly nude Jonas walked across the street to the neighbor’s property and walked around before going home.

Jonas told deputies that she tried “giving up” nudity but just couldn’t. Further questioned, Jonas told police she wants to live in a nudist colony. She was charged with indecent exposure and later released on bond, according to police and jail officials.

Online court records show that Jonas was arrested last year for indecent exposure and pleaded guilty in January. She was sentenced to three years but her sentence was suspended in lieu of two years probation.
