Man fatally shot in Salisbury

Salisbury police are asking for the public’s help in identifying who fatally shot a man on East Lafayette Street late Monday.

Officers responding to a call of shots fired found Shanta Maurice Lomax dead of gunshot wounds behind an apartment in the 900 block of the street.

Lomax, 36, was originally from Salisbury and had moved to Alabama, police said. He was visiting Salisbury this week, police said. Police found him dead at 11:35 p.m.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 704-638-5333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.

Lenoir police, meanwhile, were at the scene of a homicide on Bradford Street on Tuesday morning. No details were immediately available.
