What to Watch on Wednesday: ‘Taxi Brooklyn’ goes nowhere

NUP_163785_0028.JPG
NBC - Linda Kallerus/NBC
(L-R): Jacky Ido as Leo Romba and Chyler Leigh as Detective Cat Sullivan in NBC’s “Taxi Brooklyn.”

Taxi Brooklyn (10pm, NBC) - A new series featuring Chyler Leigh (Lexie on “Grey’s Anatomy”) as a “tough lady detective” who joins forces with a “streetwise New York cabbie” ( Jacky Ido) to solve crimes while also investigating her father’s murder. Leigh is almost unrecognizable in her sassy new short ‘do, and unfortunately, not given much else to work with in her clichéd “tough lady detective” part. Ido, a French actor best known for his part in “Inglorious Basterds,” is the most interesting thing about the pilot, which is heavy on chase scenes of the car and foot varieties.

Also on tonight . . .

Nature: Fabulous Frogs (8pm, UNC-TV) - David Attenborough explores the world of fogs, including their courtship behaviors, which range from simple calling to all-out brawls amongst competing males.

Graceland (10pm, USA) - Jake tries to find a contraband-smuggling bus, while Turturro gets in over his head after selling an antique gun to the son of a cartel leader.

Motive (10pm, ABC) - Sgt. Cross joins Flynn in the search for a bartender who went missing after being seriously wounded in an attack, causing Flynn to feel guilty about leaving Vega out of the case.
