Police arrest 26-year-old in connection with west Charlotte shooting

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting Wednesday afternoon in west Charlotte.

Investigators said the shooting was the result of an argument.

Detectives arrested Wisezah Buckman without incident Wednesday evening. According to Mecklenburg County Jail records, Buckman was charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

Police allege that Buckman shot 36-year-old Thurmont Deant Davis shortly before 4  p.m. in the 9200 block of Wilkinson Boulevard, near Old Dowd Road.

Investigators said Buckman and Davis knew one another, and some sort of altercation preceded the shooting, which took place near a convenience store.
