Newton man sentenced on meth-related convictions

A Newton man was sentenced to at least three years and eight months in prison this week on drug-related convictions.

Gregory Seth Kiser, 47, was convicted in Catawba County Criminal Superior Court of two counts of possessing/distributing methamphetamine precursor and one count each of manufacturing methamphetamine and conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.

Kiser was charged after investigators in July 2013 found an HCL generator with haze coming from the tubing and numerous other items used to make methamphetamine, District Attorney James Gaither said.
