Life on the Farm

Yes, we have free-range pigs

My dad was down here on Tuesday checking on his cows. He stopped by the house and wanted to know if our piglets were supposed to be free-ranging.

I looked out the door and the pigs were about 50 yards away standing in the driveway. Our two dogs, Bubba and Marguerita, saw them too, and they took off like a shot.

Nothing is more fun for the dogs than making the pigs run.

By the time I got to the barn, the pigs were at their pen waiting on me to let them back in.

I switched out fence chargers and put a more powerful one on the pig pasture and they have not escaped since.

We have been missing all the showers and downpours the last couple of weeks until Friday night.

We got over an inch of much-appreciated rain.
