There's no doubt paddleboarding is becoming increasingly popular around the lake. These days, a few local spots have taken the core strengthening pastime to the next level with SUP (stand up paddleboarding) yoga and bootcamp classes in addition to their lessons and rentals. Here's where to go to add an extra splash of fun and fitness to your SUP experience.

My Aloha Paddle and Surf offers two different fitness classes: Paddle Fusion and Paddleboard Bootcamp. All the yogis out there should hop on a board and try out Paddle Fusion, which combines Yoga, Pilates, and cardio for a fun and challenging workout. www.paddleboardcharlotte.com

Looking to give back? Vagabond Boards is striving to "Stand Up" for the lost children of Peru by giving a portion of all their proceeds to help orphans in Peru. They recently added new fitness classes, so once you buy your new board you can paddle out and join their Paddleboard Yoga or PaddleFit class. Hoping to look extra sleek in that bikini? Check out the PaddleFit bootcamp style class. www.vagabondboard.com
