Free meals served Monday through Friday this summer at New Outreach Christian Ministry took on a patriotic flavor this week, as servers dressed in red, white and blue.

The church is participating in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Summer Food Service Program, which offers children a free breakfast and lunch during summer months.

The church, which is closed July Fourth, is at 3900 Gossett Ave. on Charlotte’s westside. All children up to age 18 are welcome to participate in the food program. Mark Price
