Power outage off Rea Road in SE Charlotte

Duke Energy is investigating a power outage affecting customers Tuesday morning in southeast Charlotte.

The outage was reported about 6:40 a.m. in neighborhoods north of Ballantyne Commons Parkway and Interstate 485. Duke Energy is reporting about 160 customers without power and estimates electricity will be restored by about 10 a.m.

It is not clear what caused the outage. There are no reports of vehicle collisions and downed power lines in the area.
