Charlotte Knights stop RailRiders 11-6

MOOSIC, Pa. The Charlotte Knights beat the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 11-6 Tuesday in the completion of a game suspended by rain a day earlier, but rains forced the postponement of Tuesday’s regularly scheduled game.

The team now will play a doubleheader on Wednesday, beginning at 11:35 a.m. from PNC Field.

Monday’s suspended game picked up in the bottom of the fourth inning with the Knights ahead 6-3. Charlotte’s offense picked up where it left off, adding five more runs.

Andy Wilkins, Josh Phegley and Michael Taylor homered for the Knights.

Donnie Veal (2-4, 4.60 ERA), who allowed one run over 1 1/3 innings, got the win. Diego Moreno (1-2, 6.39 ERA) picked up the loss.
